Historical relevance of location
This soil sample was taken in East-Paraguay in a colony of orthodox mennonites. They came to Paraguay in 1968 from Mexico and colonised for agriculture (mainly soybeans, cotton, and sunflowers). The total deforestation caused great damage by water erosion.
